The Deck Garage: Neos Strikes Back

I'm putting this article up a bit earlier, as I won't be here for a few days.
Today's decklist is a Neos deck. Neos decks have always had a reputation for being difficult to build and useless for competitive play. The problem with the Neo-Spacians is that firstly, Elemental Hero Neos requires two tributes to summon. Secondly, when the fusions are summoned, if you don't have Neo Space on the field, your fusion goes away. This deck is built to counter these problems, by using Foolish Burial to send Elemental Hero Neos to the graveyard, then using O - Oversoul to special summon it and quickly fuse it.

The monsters here are pretty standard: Elemental Hero Neos and Elemental Hero Neos Alius both work with O - Oversoul, whilst Elemental Hero Neo Alius also acts as a very nice beatstick. Morphing Jar helps you counter your small hands after you contact fuse, and can also get Elemental Hero Neos into the graveyard. Three Neo Space Pathfinders act as respectable beatsticks and also get Neo Space for you. Sangan and Cross Porter both serve the same purpose: to search out your necessary neo-spacians. Cross Porter also works with Foolish Burial, as its secondary effect triggers when it hits the graveyard.

Common Soul is here to make the deck slightly more interesting, as well as helping you special summon neo-spacians to the field. Furthermore, it can help your monsters get an attack boost. Foolish Burial is used primarily to get Elemental Hero Neos and Elemental Hero Neos Alius into the graveyard for use with O - Oversoul. It can also send Cross Porter to the graveyard for a quick neo-spacian. Reinforcement of the Army is a general searcher card, being able to pull out certain monsters, such as Elemental Hero Neos Alius, Neo Space Pathfinder and Neo Spacian Aqua Dolphin. Finally, Convert Contact is a useful draw card, and can also help send neo-spacians to the graveyard to be revived with Monster Reborn.

The other cards in here are mostly staples. Heavy Storm, Mystical Space Typhoon, Mirror Force and Torrential Tribute act as useful destruction cards.

Just a few notes on using this deck wisely - do not make summoning a Neo-Spacian fusion your primary objective. Play defensively until you are sure that your opponent has exhausted their destruction cards, then summon your Neo-Spacian fusions. By doing so, you will be able to keep on the field conserably longer.

You should have a lot of fun playing with this deck. Who says that character decks don't work well in real life?
